A video game modding, hosting, and playing community: https://aalenia.com
Aalenia is a community which produces video game mods and hosts video game servers. Many game publishers allows customers to host their own "community servers" which can implement game modifications ("mods") or use third-party applications to customize gameplay. Such applications typically have a bot user which interacts with community members, so are often themselves called "bots". We take advantage of these opportunities to create fun and unique gameplay experiences for our community members.
This community is named after the "Aalenian" age, an age of the Middle Jurassic whose prehistoric context resonates with the content created and hosted herein.
Aalenia began as a community centered around the development and testing of a JavaScript application for Path of Titans (PoT) community servers. We sought to create an open-source docker image for servers to deploy locally, to eliminate the issues other bot applications face: latency, downtime, inadequate features, and inadequate customizability.
Our current focus is creating mods and bots for PoT and hosting PoT servers to showcase those creations.
