That strong foundation made Wuthering Waves a natural fit to pilot Discord's Game Stats Widget, a new Discord profile feature that showcases a specific game’s stats such as hours played, exploration progress, or player level, right on a player’s Discord Profile Board.
Already adopted by over 400,000 players, the Game Stats Widget actively enhances how community members share stats, strike up conversations, find teammates, and express their identity as players.
Building the Community Before Launch
Rather than waiting for release day to gather players, Kuro Games started early. The team funnelled traffic to Discord directly from their website, social channels, and other official platforms, offering pre-registration milestones, closed beta slots, and interactive events to give fans a clear incentive to join early.
From the outset, the server was designed as a two-way dialogue rather than a simple broadcast channel. Its architecture reflects that priority: dedicated channels cater to official announcements, gameplay guides, fan art, and regional co-op matchmaking. This clear layout lets new members navigate easily, while member-submitted guides and squad-finding channels keep daily activity high.
Community growth remains steady thanks to invite campaigns, event-specific spaces, and recurring incentives like an exclusive Discord check-in event offering in-game rewards. Player feedback helps to optimize the server's layout — for instance, a dedicated "Strategies & Guides" section featuring a "Featured Guides" channel was added specifically in response to player requests.
The Abby App: Laying the Groundwork
Prior to testing the Game Stats Widget, Kuro Games launched the Abby App—a custom bot named after the game's mascot. Players could interact with the bot to compare builds and evaluate team setups without leaving the server.
The app also served as a valuable proof of concept for Kuro Games as their Discord server evolved. The Game Stats Widget is aligned neatly with that vision by allowing players to feature their achievements directly on their profiles, giving community members an easy icebreaker to kick off conversations, find teammates, and express what kind of Wuthering Waves player they are.
The decision to adopt the widget came down to utility and team familiarity. Having already proven they could maintain custom integrations through the Abby App, Kuro Games had the technical framework and workflows ready to implement the new feature smoothly.

Solving the Legacy Player Challenge
Rolling out the integration came with some technical hurdles. Because of the popularity of earlier bot features, a large portion of the player base had linked their Discord accounts before the Game Stats Widget existed. This led to API errors and data synchronization conflicts when these legacy accounts attempted to activate the new widget.
To address this without breaking existing account links, Kuro Games updated the frontend logic of their account-linking page to automatically differentiate between new and existing accounts. Using step-by-step prompts in the Discord UI, players with legacy accounts are now guided through a brief resync process between the game client and Discord, preventing technical glitches and keeping account connections intact.
This player-focused approach informed the rest of the rollout, which prioritized clear UI prompts, minimal steps, and instant visual feedback as soon as stats sync successfully.

Since the Game Stats Widget was introduced, over 400,000 players have installed it, using it in diverse ways. Experienced players often showcase total login days to mark their time with the game, while newer players turn it on to establish their profile within the server. Displaying a single stat or character frequently leads to strategy discussions and co-op requests.
Players have also given clear feedback that has informed future updates to the widget. There’s been some challenges, such as occasional loading delays and character-selection friction, giving Kuro Games and Discord an opportunity to fine tune the feature. They also share what additional stats they want to see included, such as expanded character slots, achievements, Echo collection totals, world exploration percentages, and event badges.
Overall, a clear pattern has emerged: most players use the Widget to highlight their favorite Resonator and showcase their in-game journey rather than strictly optimize for peak stats. For Kuro Games, this confirms the tool serves as more than a performance dashboard — it functions as a personal profile element connecting a player's in-game identity with their presence on Discord.
What's Next for Wuthering Waves
As Wuthering Waves continues to grow, so does the roster of Resonators available for players to display on their own Game Stats Widget.
Wuthering Waves Version 3.6, titled "Lamplight in Mirage, Sword's Resolve in Heart," is out now. The update continues Main Quest Chapter IV with Act III and its segue storyline, introducing a new region featuring a traditional Xianxia visual design. Joining Rover in this chapter are Qingxiao, a Sword Transcendent proficient in Sword Flight, and Jingran, a youth guided by an ethereal Life Lamp, as they uncover a plot to turn humans into weaponized soldiers.
Qingxiao is now available as playable Resonator in the Version 3.6 Featured Convene alongside the signature weapon. On the technical side, Version 3.6 will be introducing a new performance optimization involving a change of programming language. This "New Programming Language" performance optimization will be rolled out in stages across all platforms in the form of a limited online test. With this optimization, on devices that meet the requirements across all platforms, the game's overall performance and average frame rate will improve to a certain extent.
