Introducing New Tools to Power Game Discovery and Social Play

Today, we're announcing a series of product updates that make it even easier for players to discover, play, and connect around the games they love. These include the introduction of Play Quest+, Discord’s latest ad format, Social Commerce partnerships with Ninja Kiwi and Facepunch Studios, the rollout of Game Stats Widgets for official game communities, and mobile platform support for the Discord Social SDK. These updates help developers and advertisers reach and engage players, while giving players on Discord more ways to discover games, connect with friends, and unlock rewards.

Introducing Play Quest+

Discord and EA have partnered to launch the first Play Quest+ experience with Battlefield 6 in September. Play Quest+ is an all-new ad format that rewards the gameplay actions that matter most, enabling advertisers to directly reward the game events that drive user retention. It marks an evolution of our flagship ad format Play Quest, which launched in 2024, moving beyond time-based engagement to reward in-game actions such as completing a tutorial, finishing a match, or playing with a friend. Play Quest+ is powered by two foundational integrations: Discord's Social SDK and the Events API.

As Battlefield 6’s Season 4 continues, players who accept the Quest and link their Discord and EA accounts can complete a gameplay objective to unlock rewards. Progress is automatically updated in Discord as users play, making for a seamless reward claiming experience. EA is first to market in launching a Play Quest+ campaign, enabled by their integration of Discord’s Social SDK powered features and Events API.

“Battlefield 6’s open beta was an incredibly important moment for us as we invited millions around the world to experience the game for themselves. Discord’s Play Quest was a vital component in getting more players in and keeping them engaged for longer periods of time. We look forward to the next iteration with Play Quest+ and seeing how we can deploy it to engage even more players across our blockbuster franchises.”
– Andrea Hopelain, Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at Electronic Arts.

Quests are Discord's rewarded advertising format, designed to deliver meaningful value to users by authentically connecting with their gaming interests. Expanded Social Commerce Partnerships

Discord Social Commerce program welcomes its newest partners; Ninja Kiwi and Facepunch. Earlier this month, Ninja Kiwi made their in-game items from their flagship title, Bloons Tower Defense 6, available for sale directly on Discord. Millions of players can now browse, buy, and gift Bloons TD 6 items directly on Discord and receive them in-game. Facepunch's Game Shop on Discord achieved sustained momentum since launching in May, where they reached 1 in 5 active Rust players in the first week, with nearly 1 in 4 first-week buyers returning for another purchase [Source: Discord internal data, May 7th – July 6th, 2026].

"Discord gave us a new way to reach our players without changing how they already engaged with the game. By combining exclusive content with Discord's native distribution, we reached players where they already spent time and saw strong engagement from launch through repeat purchases."
- Ash Cook, Head of Marketing at Facepunch

Game Stats Widgets Coming Soon

Coming soon for game communities that have claimed their game, the Game Stats Widget puts a developer’s game front and center on a player's Profile Board, so favorite characters, top scores, or biggest wins are all on display. Once players link their Discord account, their Game Stats Widgets will be connected to the official Game Profile, helping drive organic discovery and engagement of the game with just one click when friends visit each other’s Discord profiles.

Mobile Platform Support for Discord Social Layer

With mobile support now generally available for the Discord Social Layer, developers can extend Discord-powered social experiences to iOS and Android. After seeing causal data that showed a 31% increase in retention, up to a 47% increase in session length, and up to a 57% increase in game launch days across PC titles, key features were refined to meet the demands of smaller screens and on-the-go play to bring these same opportunities to mobile [Source: Internal Discord data, March 31st, 2026 based on a causal study of outcomes after social layer integration for 15+ games launched since December 2024].

The result is a fast, low-friction, and deeply social mobile experience, built for how mobile players actually play.

Together, these updates continue to make Discord a powerful place for players to discover games, connect with friends, and deepen their engagement, while giving developers and advertisers new ways to reach players and grow their communities.
