Reward Your Play: Complete Quests. Earn Orbs. Get Sweet Stuff.

Fellow Quest-goers, listen in: lately, there’s a good chance you’ve seen certain Quests offering something called “Discord Orbs” for completing them. You may be pondering: what the heck IS an Orb?

Discord Orbs are a type of Quest reward available on both desktop and mobile! Tackle Quests, grow a spherical stash of Orbs, and redeem them in the Shop for tons of stuff, like Orb-themed profile items or the most fabled thing on all of Discord: Nitro itself… 3-Day Nitro credits to be precise! You can also spend Discord Orbs on many of your favorite items in the Shop.

…what’s that rolling sound? Oh, would you look at that! It’s the sound of the Orbs you’ll earn over at the Quests page! Use the button below to see if there are any Quests available to you that offer up Orbs as a reward:

How do I earn Discord Orbs on Desktop? 

Did you press the big blurple button above? Then you’ll know that Orbs are earned by completing Quests! 

If you’ve never participated in a Quest (and somehow missed the big button) or wanna find out more about how to earn them on the desktop app, listen here while we read from the Scroll of Quest Discovery:

• On desktop, press thy “Discord” logo at the top-left of the app. 
• Next, select ye ole Quests tab on the side. You’ll uncover every Quest available for you to take on.

There are a bunch of rewards for taking on a Quest, including Avatar Decorations, in-game items, and starting soon, you may see Quests that reward you with Discord Orbs!   

If you encounter a Quest that rewards you with Orbs — or a different type of bounty you desire — click on “Accept Quest,” fulfill its requirements, and then hit “Claim Reward.” Boom. The Orbs are your(b)s. 

Now, your Orbs are collected, pondering the day they’ll be put to good use… 

How do I earn Discord Orbs on Mobile? 

We recently discovered a new Scroll while on some recent adventures. We took it to the local archaeologist, and it turned out to contain the missing key to gain, collect, and share Orbs ANYWHERE YOU GO (with your phone). 

Presenting: the world’s first reading of the newly-unearthed Scroll of Mobile Quest Discovery: 

• On mobile, select ye ole “You” button at the bottom-right of your device’s screen.
• BEHOLD: an “Orbs Balance” button. Open it to spend your Orbs horde, or embark on more Quests using the “Earn Orbs” option. 

The available Quests change up regularly, so if you don’t see anything you like, come back later for some new Quests to take up! Some Quests are even exclusive to either desktop or mobile — if you encounter and begin a platform-specific Quest, it’ll let you know when you go to start it.

Where do I spend Discord Orbs?

Once you’ve accumulated enough Orbs, put ‘em in your treasure pouch and bring ‘em over to the Shop! 

On the desktop app, look towards the very top of the Shop on the desktop app and you’ll now see an “Orbs Exclusives” tab. 

On mobile, tap your Orbs Balance in the “You” tab, and above the previously-mentioned “Earn Orbs” button, you’ll see an option to “Redeem Orbs in Shop.” When the button’s called that, how can you NOT press it? So press it! 

Here, you’ll be able to redeem your Orbs for things such as Orbs-themed profile items and Nitro credit. Plus, there’s an exclusive Orb badge for your profile! Reward yourself with a slick new profile badge and show it off to everyone. 

There’s plenty to use your Orbs on... you can claim many of our available Nameplates, Avatar Decorations, or Profile Effects using just Orbs. Stuff that you claim with Orbs will be added to your account to enjoy on all platforms. (Pro Tip: Click on “Show All” to see everything available!) 

Don’t want to spend ‘em yet? Worry not: your collected Orbs stay with your account, so you can hold onto them for as long as you want and use them when you see something worthy of spending your Orbs. (What would an expired Orb be like?… probably… squishy… like a soggy blueberry…)

There are only a few things you can’t use your Discord Orbs on, including partner-branded Shop items, Gifts for others, recurring Nitro memberships, and Server Boosting subscriptions. Peer into our Discord Orbs FAQ for all the details on these blurple, glowing spheres.
