Discord

Discord is home to millions around the world who talk to their heart’s content while playing their favorite games. And Xbox is home to many playing their favorite games. And whaddaya know… Discord and Xbox connect with each other and let you talk to your Discord friends while playing your favorite console games! It’s the perfect match if you ask us.

Today, we’re sharing a few new ways we’re making your Discord experience on an Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One console even better, including new ways to see what your Discord friends are up to on Xbox and the power to watch your friends' streams on Discord, directly from your Xbox

Read on to see how Discord soon will feel more and more like a natural part of your Xbox console!

One Place to See Who's On and What's Up

Never miss a moment. The Xbox Friends list will now include Discord friends who are gaming or chatting in Discord Voice under "Happening now", alongside Xbox friends in parties or games. Jump into a voice channel, watch a friend streaming, or initiate a call, all from your Xbox console.

Plus, if your friends are currently talkin’ away or streaming their game in a Discord server’s voice channel, that channel will also be shown in the “Happening Now” tab to the right of your friends list.

And one more thing… You can now call your Discord friends directly from your Xbox. What are smartphones even for, anyways?

Now there’s no need to scour all your servers and DMs on your itty-bitty phone screen to see what’s happening — just hop into any active voice channel or call a Discord friend directly from your Xbox! There’s no excuse not to start an impromptu Halo Infinite session now.

Watch Your Friend’s Clutch Plays by Viewing Discord Streams Directly from Your Xbox console

THIS is a big one — the next time one of your friends is streaming their game or app, you no longer have to use your imagination to picture what could possibly be reacting to that’s making them scream so loudly (ow my ears).

Now, when your friends are streaming their games in voice, you can watch their stream directly on your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One console! No matter if they’re sharing their screen from PC, mobile, or another Xbox, you’ll be able to kick back and watch whatever they’ve gotten themselves into.

You can do this by opening up your conversation’s member list within the Xbox guide. See someone in your call who’s streaming? Select their profile, choose “Watch Stream,” and their gameplay will be shown in full-screen for you to enjoy.

And after you’re done watching their stream, don’t forget to stream your own Xbox gameplay to your friends! Sharing is caring.

More Discord on Xbox Means Better Game Nights for All in the Call

You can join Discord voice channels from Xbox. You can stream from your Xbox. And now, you can watch your friend’s streams on Xbox, see what’s going on in all your servers, and call your Discord friends directly from your Xbox. More Discord on your Xbox means a smoother gaming experience for both you and your friends!

These new features are now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, so make sure your Xbox and Discord accounts are all linked up! Head into User Settings > Connections to see all your connected accounts.

If you don’t see any active Discord friends or channels on your “Happening Now” tab on Xbox, you may need to reconnect your accounts. If you’re unsure how to do that, follow the steps here for some guidance (no judgments on following walkthroughs here!).
