⌨️ A Custom Wumpus Keyboard Rug by @cosmiccarpets (Bundled with a Discord Keyboard!)

So what sort of prize did you make!? 

For Discord's 9th year celebration, we made Discord a custom Wumpus keyboard rug of his face cutout :P 

What’s the process for making something as wonderous as this?

The process of transforming Wumpus into a keyboard rug begins by projecting an image of Wumpus onto a stretched cloth canvas to precisely trace [their] cute face. Next, a machine is used to punch acrylic yarn at a rapid speed, creating a cut-pile carpet texture while filling and threading in the colors accordingly. Finally, a strong adhesive is applied to bond the yarn and fabric together, ensuring the mat is machine-washable and capable of providing years of enjoyment.

What about Discord’s look or style did you incorporate when designing your prize?

While designing [this Wumpus rug], I wanted to keep in mind his unique colors, and with slight shade variations of yarn, called for color matching in person. Matching colors can be extremely difficult online and deceiving, which made the perfect opportunity for a scavenger hunt through my local towns; thankfully no rain. Rain and yarn aren't really good friends. 

What do you hope the winner feels when they get their prize?

Hopefully, the winner feels an unexpected surprise that lights up their day!

🪅 A Three-Feet-Tall Wumpus Piñata by @pinatasbychi

So what sort of prize did you make!? 

I made a 3 foot Wumpus piñata! 

What’s the process for making something as wonderous as this?

Where do I begin, haha. 

First I cut out the design on butcher paper, trace it on a piece of cardboard, and cut it out. Next, I start attaching the strips to the edge of the template. Once the strips are attached I’ll add the second template to the edge of the strips and close it up! 

TAH - DAH! ✨Now we have a blank piñata and we can start adding the crepe paper to make it come to life! This part is very repetitive because I'm just gluing and adding the strips of paper until the piñata is fully covered! 

Once that’s finished I’ll add the card stock for the face, add the paracord so the piñata can be hung and now we have the Wumpus in piñata form! And ready to be filled with candy! 

What about Discord’s look or style did you incorporate when designing your prize?

Well, in order to make Wumpus come to life you have to get the colors on point! So making sure I had the right color of Purples was crucial. 

What do you hope the winner feels when they get their prize?

Excitement! Because who doesn’t want a 3-foot Wumpus piñata! 

🍰 A One-of-a-Kind Headset Stand by @prettyshittycakes!

So what sort of prize did you make!? 

I made some fun cake-inspired headset stands!

What’s the process for making something as wonderous as this?

First, I had to source headset stands that would work for this project, then I use my usual materials to pipe a cake/cake-inspired decor!

What about Discord’s look or style did you incorporate when designing your prize?

We collaborated with Discord to make Discord logo sprinkles and I’m obsessed with them! 

What do you hope the winner feels when they get their prize?

I hope the winner gets a sense of joy whenever they see their new headset stand!

🤺 One of Two Custom Discord-Themed Arcade Sticks by @enzouz!

So what sort of prize did you make!?

I customized 2 Nacon arcade sticks for fighting games. 

What’s the process for making something as wonderous as this?

To make these customs, I started by working on visuals to get a concrete idea of what I wanted to do on the arcade sticks. Then, I started by dismantling the front panel and sanding it down to create a grip for my paint. Finally, I used my airbrush and brushes to bring the custom to life, and protected it with a coat of varnish. 

What about Discord’s look or style did you incorporate when designing your prize?

I decided to put Wumpus in karate gear and in a fighting stance. As arcade sticks are often used in fighting games, this was a perfect match. 

What do you hope the winner feels when they get their prize?

I hope they'll be happy with my work and, above all, that they'll have fun with these two unique sticks.
